The Fangguang da zhuangyan jing (Skt. Lalitavistara; Tib. rgya cher rol pa; Eng.). The Buddha describes his life in the Tuṣita heaven and his descent to save the world. Thus, it is a biographical account of the life of the Buddha based upon a Mahāyāna perspective. It covers the period from the Buddha's birth in Tuṣita Heaven until his first sermon. This work agrees generally with the Sanskrit text and the Tibetan version. It was translated into Chinese four times, but the first and third translations had already been lost by 730. The Sanskrit text has been edited by R. Mitra and revised by S. Lefmann. The extant translations are:
- 27 chapters in 12 fasc. T 187.3.539-617, alt. 神通遊戲經, abbr. 大莊嚴經, trans. Divākara 地婆訶羅 in 683. Vaipulya-mahāvyūha-sūtra
